If you checked your Google Search Console last week and did not see the new AI Performance Reports — check again today.
Google has confirmed it is actively expanding access to the AI Performance Reports beyond the initial limited rollout. As of June 23, 2026, SEOs and site owners across the United States, India, Switzerland, and other countries outside the United Kingdom are now reporting access to the reports — and Google’s John Mueller has confirmed the expansion is intentional and ongoing.
What Mueller Said
Google’s John Mueller confirmed the expanded rollout on Bluesky:
“We’re just rolling these out incrementally to sites and reviewing the feedback along the way. I know everyone wants the new shiny thing immediately… but first, patience.”
The message is clear: Google is taking a measured, feedback-driven approach to the rollout — but it is moving faster than many expected. The reports first launched on June 3, 2026. Within just 20 days, access has expanded significantly beyond the initial UK-focused test group.
What the AI Performance Reports Show
For those who have not yet seen the reports, here is a quick recap of what they include:
- Impressions — how often your pages appeared in AI-generated responses, AI Mode, and AI Overviews
- Pages — which specific URLs from your site are being surfaced in AI features
- Countries — where in the world is your AI-driven visibility coming from
- Devices — what devices users were on when your pages appeared
- Dates — performance over time with hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly granularity
One important limitation remains: click data is not yet included. The reports show impressions and presence — but not how many users clicked through from AI responses to your site. This is a gap both Google and Microsoft (with Bing Webmaster Tools) have yet to address.
Why This Expansion Matters
The speed of this rollout is notable. Google typically runs extended limited tests before broad availability. Expanding from a UK-restricted test to global availability within 20 days suggests either strong positive feedback from early users — or a recognition that the SEO community’s demand for this data was more urgent than initially anticipated.
Furthermore, this expansion comes at a moment when AI referral traffic is growing rapidly across sectors. As covered in TheTechCursor’s recent analysis of Adobe’s AI traffic data, AI referrals to retail sites have grown 1,324% since October 2024. For site owners trying to understand their AI search performance, these reports are the first native Google tool that provides any visibility into that channel.
How to Check If You Have Access
- Log into Google Search Console
- Select your property
- Look in the left navigation for “Search results” under Performance
- Check for a new tab or filter option labeled “AI features” or “Generative AI”
If you do not see it yet, the rollout is still ongoing. Mueller’s comment about patience suggests access will continue expanding — though no specific timeline has been confirmed.
What to Do When You Get Access
Once you have access, start with these three actions:
Baseline your current AI impressions. Record your starting numbers across all available metrics. This becomes your benchmark for measuring the impact of any content or optimization changes going forward.
Identify your highest-performing pages in AI features. Which URLs are already appearing in AI responses? These pages are demonstrating strong E-E-A-T and entity signals — understand what they have in common and apply those patterns to underperforming content.
Compare AI impressions against traditional search performance. A page with deep traditional impressions but zero AI impressions may have a content structure or readability issue preventing it from being surfaced in AI features.
Bottom Line
Google Search Console’s AI Performance Reports are expanding to more users globally — faster than expected. If you have not checked your account recently, now is the time. The data these reports provide — impressions, pages, countries, devices — is the first native measurement of your AI search visibility Google has ever offered.
Check your Search Console today. If you have access, start building your baseline immediately.
